About the Position:
The Allegheny Intermediate Unit is currently seeking a Director of HR & Labor Relations, who will be responsible for providing best-in-class HR solutions to our internal business customers in addition to leading the development and implementation of labor relations strategies.  This incumbent will serve as an HR business partner to create an environment that delivers desired operating results and supports employee engagement. The successful candidate must have a degree in Human Resources, Law, or related field.  A minimum of 5 years in a leadership role in the field of Human Resources or employment law is also required.  A Juris Doctor Degree with personnel experience desired, along with SPHR or SHRM-SCP Certification preferred. Provide leadership in the areas of instructional leadership, professional development, problem solving, team-building, master scheduling, school/community relations, strategic planning, the development of the school vision and related action plans, and in providing a safe/orderly environment conducive to teaching and learning. Full-Time, with benefits; 8 hours/day, 261 days/year. Position begins 7/1/17. Minimum Qualifications: current PA Administrative Principal K - 12 Certification; five (5) to ten (10) years' experience in public education necessary, including elementary or secondary school instruction; Master's degree. Preferred Qualifications: Principal/Assistant principal or supervisory experience.
