The PASA Bylaws provide for different types of committees.  PASA committees work under the direction of the Board of Governors.

The Executive Committee is composed of the President, PresidentElect/Secretary, Immediate Past-President, and Treasurer. The Executive Director shall serve as an ex officio, nonvoting member of the Executive Committee. The Executive Committee handles all administrative matters of PASA, has the power to act on behalf of the Board of Directors between meetings of the Board in case of emergency, carries out the directives of the Board of Governors, and has such other powers and functions as may be delegated to it from time to time by resolution of the Board of Governors in accordance with law and the PASA Bylaws.

The Audit Committee is composed of at least three voting members appointed by the PASA President annually. The Treasurer serves as chairperson. The Audit Committee (a) conducts an on-going review of the financial activities of PASA; (b) reviews all financial statements, (c) reviews internal controls; (d) regularly reports to the Board of Governors on the financial status of PASA; (e) ensures that an audit shall be made annually of the accounting records of PASA by an independent accountant(s); (f) reviews the annual audit report and report its findings to the Board; and (g) provides a copy of the audit report to each member of the Board of Governors.

The Elections Committee is composed of at least nine voting members appointed by the PASA President for three-year, staggered terms. The committee is responsible for providing oversight of the entire procedure for balloting and selection of PASA officers and delegates to the AASA Governing Board and AASA Executive Board. The committee also is responsible for hearing and resolving any complaints or appeals regarding results of any PASA election. The PASA President names a voting member to serve as the chairperson of the committee.

Standing Statewide Committees
Three committees include a representative from each intermediate unit. I.U. representatives on the PASA Board of Governors serve as members of the Membership Committee. For the two remaining standing statewide committees, members are elected from within their respective regions. Members of the Board of Governors are responsible for conducting these elections as needed.

Ad Hoc Committees
Ad Hoc committees are appointed by the President as the need arises.  In making the appointments, the President gives due consideration to representation from geographical regions of the Association.  Ad Hoc committees may not usurp the functions of any standing committee named in the Bylaws.
